CAPP
psychotherapists come from many different backgrounds
and all have received a thorough training, either at CAPP
or elsewhere, and are committed to CAPP's values. We
respect and value differences in race, culture,
disability, gender, sexuality, age,
income and class. Our code of ethics requires
CAPP psychotherapists to endeavour to use their professional
abilities and skills to their clients' best advantage and
to approach their work with the aim of resolving suffering
and promoting well-being.
CAPP is a member of the Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
section of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
Most psychotherapy relationships work well. If something does
go wrong, we have a complaints procedure backed up by the
provision to appeal to the UKCP.
The John Bowlby Centre, in Tower Hamlets, is where our outreach
and development activities, training courses and The Blues
Project are based. It provides a welcoming home in London
for our work.
We can make referrals to attachment based therapists delivering
the service from our Centre in Tower Hamlets, or other locations
across London. We can also make referrals to attachment-based
therapists operating outside London in the following areas:
Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Buckinghamshire, Cambridge,
Cardiff, Dorset, Essex, Gloucestershire, Kent, Hampshire,
Hertfordshire, Middlesbrough, Oxfordshire, Plymouth, Reading,
Shropshire, Surrey, West Sussex and West Yorkshire
