A
message from Judith Erskine, CAPP Referrals Co-ordinator
The
Blues Project is for people who would not otherwise
have access to psychotherapy because they are unwaged
or very low paid. Places are limited, so it can
sometimes take a while to find a therapist. The client
must make a commitment to come for therapy twice a week
for at least 2 years. The psychotherapist will usually
be someone who has completed or is nearing the end of
their 4 year CAPP training. Most Blues Project
therapists are in London, but some are in other areas.
The
first step is an assessment interview with me at the
John Bowlby Centre, (near Liverpool St Station in London).
This is a chance for you and me to have a talk about
you - your experience your history and your needs,
and to then begin to think about who would be the right
therapist for you. Interviews are held on Mondays
and Fridays and last about an hour. There is a fee for
the interview, usually £30.
Costs for the therapy sessions vary and that is something
that we can talk about when we meet. The minimum is
usually £10, or £6.50 if you are unwaged..
The Blues Project is usually not available to people
in the mental health professions or trainees in those
professions.
If
you would like to know more, you can call me at the
CAPP office on a Monday or Friday or leave a message
there, or you can email
me from here,
Tell me where you live so that I can check if we have
psychotherapists in your area, and let me know your
name and telephone number so that I can get back to
you.
Take
care,

Judith Erskine
